This project included an addition to extend the kitchen and open living area in the rear of the house; a new covered porch; and a remodeled upstairs hall bath.

The kitchen has separate cook, bake, beverage, and bar areas, and a wine room—with a barrel vaulted ceiling. Walnut cabinetry, real Kentucky limestone, and beams create a modern rustic feel. Notice the wide Andersen window over the counter. The bar features outside corner cabinets. Philip customized the dining room’s swing doors with beveled side lights to mirror the Andersen Eagle Frenchwood gliding patio doors. Philip is known for creatively realizing clients’ wishes; here, he hung lights from the beam; welded a customized steel support for the island’s free-floating granite overhang; and reused the owners’ Sub Zero refrigerator. Andersen Eagle Frenchwood gliding patio doors provide a 7-foot clear opening to the new covered porch.
